Insulation Materials

Superwool Fibre meets the requirements requested under NOTA Q of directive 97/69 EC.

All Superwool® Fibre products are exonerated from classification and labelling regulation in Europe.
The Superwool Fibre products offers a versatile alternative to traditional insulation solutions for commercial, industrial, and transportation applications. Superwool Fibre products are special alkaline earth composition fibers (AES) that have been uniquely engineered to offer advantages in high temperature insulation applications: low thermal conductivity, low bio-persistence, low linear shrinkage up to their use limit

The refractory ceramic fibre is a highly versatile material. It can be spun or blown into bulk, air-laid into a blanket, folded into modules, converted into papers, boards, and shapes, die-cut into gaskets, twisted into yarns, woven into rope and cloth, and blended into liquid binders for mastics and cements. With this wide range of products, Thermoheat B.V. can provide exactly the right product, or engineered system to fit your requirements. Thermoheat B.V. has an experienced staff of refractory specialists to assist you in product selection, system design, and installation techniques The ceramic fibre products are succesfull due to their cost-effectiveness and excellent insulating properties. They are lightweight and have low thermal conductivities, excellent resistance to thermal shock, outstanding electrical resistivity, and good acoustical properties.

Calcium silicate is a extremely lightweight insulating board with excellent insulating value, high mecanical strenght and good heat resistance up to 1000°C or 1100°C. It is used for back-up insulation only.

Insulation material based on fumed silica. This material has a fine structure, so it has a very high thermal insulating property. It is available in various designs, such as board, panels, pipe sections and customised shapes. It can be used for insulation of industrial furnaces in iron and steel industry, ceramics, glass industry, non-ferrous industry, petrochemical industry and heaters.

Fiberglass insulation has excellent thermal and acoustical properties. It is a lightweight and highly resilient type thermal and acoustical insulation made of flame-attenuated glass fibers bonded with thermosetting resin. The fibers are noncombustible and are unaffected by oil, grease and most acids.
Fiberglass insulation is used in applications which requires high thermal and acoustical efficiency in a minimum space, such as acoustical panels/partitions, pipe wrap kits, HVAC equipment and other appliances.

Bellows and High Temperature Thermal Seals

At our shop we design, manufacture and install expansion bellows and bolsters temperatures up to 1400°C. For example: fluegas bellows, expansion bellows, duct bellows, multitube bellows, monotube bellows.

Multi-layer design, incorporating high temperature resistant wire mesh, foils and special coated glass cloths, are used to built up the bellow. Several shapes, from rectangular to circular, including flanges with boltholes can be made with very short delivery times.

We manufacture bellows to your process circumstances. The bellow can be supplied with inner bolster, deflection plate and fastening materials like steel contraflange with bolts and nuts.

Besides bellows, we manufacture custom made packings and seals to suit your requirements. These packings, such as e.g. tadpole packings, can be manufactured in several qualities up to 1200°C. For example: Conical seals, tube seals, telescopic seals, quilted sleeves, spring joints. We also manufacture seals from paper, board and blankets.

All materials to manufacture bellows and seals are readily available in our warehouse, so we can manufacture with very short delivery times.

Precast Shapes

The use of precast shapes has many advantages. The ready made product can be inspected on quality and dimensions. Thermoheat’s workshop at Middelharnis is well equipped for precasting of shapes up to 10 tonnes of casted weight. We have a wide range of refractory casting materials up to 1870°C.

The materials for precasting shapes include insulating castable up to high density erosion resistant castable, but also specials, like aluminium resistant and siliconcarbide castables are within our standard product range. Together with sophisticated bonding technics, this enables us to manufacture a well engineered, high quality refractory shape. Beside casting and vibrocasting we also use ramming mixes. By using different types of moulds we can cast from one shape up to any number you require. The shapes can be dried out before shipment and are therefore ready to use without the need of delicate initial dryout at startup of the unit.

Also stainless steel fibres in several qualities can be used as reinforcement. Specialties, like steelfibre castables for use as doorlintel in aluminium casting and holding furnace, are available for you. These doorlintels have a very high strength and therefore have a much longer lifetime then Ultra Low Cement casted lintels. We also implement anchors and steelframes if you have the requirement.

Since 2013 we have a special mold-making machine, so we can offer a better delivery time.

SIFCA®

SIFCA® is an acronym that stands for Slurry Infiltrated Fiber CAstable.

SIFCA® is a precast refractory composite composed of low cement refractory slurry and stainless steel fiber. It is a combination of up to 16 volume percent stainless steel fibers and any one of six (6) slurry types. Under appropriate conditions, SIFCA® shapes can have a service temperature range up to 1650°C.

The unique characteristics of this product are; thermal shock resistance, impact resistance, compressive strength and refractoriness when compared to steel or cast iron shapes. At elevated operating temperatures, SIFCA® replaces cast iron and steel parts that are oxidizing. SIFCA® is also a direct replacement for conventional precast refractory shapes in structural or support applications. SIFCA® shapes, unlike standard precast shapes, can be bolted to the same structure as the steel or cast iron it is replacing.

Ropes - Packings - Sleeves

Real flexible and soft cords obtained by twisting lots of yarns together.

Application: Thermal insulation of pipes, flexible tubes and electrical cables protection, sealing joints for boilers.
Range: Diameters from 3 mm to 50 mm.

Manufactured by a knitted braiding method in order to obtain an extremely elastic and flexible sealing packing that does not shed on cutting. High density and no elasticity could be obtained by putting inside them a core of the same yarns.

Application: Sealing joints for stoves and oven doors and boilers.
Range: Diameters from 3 mm to 50 mm.

Manufactured by a tubular braiding in order to obtain an extremely elastic and flexible sleeve.

Application: Thermal insulating and heat protection of flexible pipes, tubes and electrical cables. For dielectrically insulating they can be impregnated either with silicon rubber or other special treatments.
Range: Maximum internal diameters 100 mm

Consists a core of fibres or blanket strips inside (ceramic, silca, glass) and braided outside by an open or closed mesh made of different kind of yarns.
They are softer and lighter and therefore less expensive then comparable braided packing’s. In order to increase the mechanical resistance, the hardness and the density of the ropes, two or more outside braiding can be done.

Application: Thermal insulating and heat protection of tubes. Sealing joints of oven and boiler doors, kiln-cars, furnace oven trolleys, industrial containers, expansion joints.
